Earley & Associates is looking for on-going relationships with taxonomy development contractors to help us fulfill the many jobs we are winning.
Responsibilities:
As a member of our consulting team, you will work on a variety of taxonomy, content management, knowledge management, and information architecture projects for a wide range of high-end clients. You’ll undertake a variety of tasks that best match your qualifications, experience, and interests. Specific tasks may include any combination of the following:
- Developing, mapping, evaluating, and/or maintaining taxonomies
- Conducting content audits and content analysis
- Developing metadata schemas, tagging, conducting metadata audits
- Developing project-related documentation, such as research reports, guidelines, specifications, manuals etc.
- Analyzing search logs and Web metrics
- Conducting user research, usability testing Interviewing stakeholders, subject matter experts, and end users
- Providing training on taxonomy maintenance, tagging, or tool use
- Facilitating working sessions
- Support taxonomy implementation
- Support integration of content-, document-, taxonomy-management tools, search engines etc.
Qualifications:
Successful candidates will have:
- Experience with--or knowledge of--taxonomy, metadata, controlled vocabularies, and classification
- Excellent attention to detail
- Experience working in busy corporate environments
- First rate communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent organizational skills & time management
- Full proficiency in use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, Access)
- Robust teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently from your home office
- Availability to travel to onsite locations when required
Other desired qualifications include:
- Experience with document, content, and taxonomy-management systems, such as Vignette, Documentum, etc.
- Experience managing content for large Web sites
- Experience doing user research and usability testing
- Experience preparing business or technical documentation
- Basic knowledge of XML, SQL, HTML
- Project management experience
A Masters of Library and Information Science (MLIS) or comparable degree is strongly preferred.
