Mike will talk through the different set of deliverables that he produced in getting the taxonomy project started and how he then worked with the repository teams to define their requirements for metadata and the types of documentation he used to do this. He will then talk through the ongoing process that has been developed for managing the taxonomy and the deliverables that are used to support this.

 Rachel Lovinger has over 8 years of experience in web development and online publishing. In that time, Rachel has been especially interested in connecting users with the quality content they want and need. At Time Inc, Rachel helped design a metadata strategy for Entertainment Weekly’s EW.com that resulted in an unprecedented increase in “long tail” traffic. As a Senior Content Strategist at Avenue A | Razorfish, a leading international interactive agency, Rachel continues to develop processes, best practices and innovative ideas for Fortune 500 companies looking to use digital content in more meaningful ways.

 Mike Gardner is the EDS Taxonomist and has had this role for around 5 years now. Mike has been responsible for the definition of the taxonomy strategy and it’s implementation, where today it is used to integrate content across the organization. Mike brings 25+ years of analysis and design experience in business analysis, information management, process improvement, innovation, quality management, system design and implementation across a wide range of applications. Mike has been at EDS for 10 years and previously was part of Rolls-Royce’s IT team
