Senior Consultant - Taxonomy, Information Architecture, Content Management and Search

If you answered yes, you may be just the person we need. Earley & Associates is looking for on-going relationships with senior consulting contractors to help us fulfill the many jobs we are winning.
Responsibilities:
You will lead our consulting teams on a variety of taxonomy, content management, knowledge management, and information architecture projects for a wide range of high-end clients.
Specific tasks may include any combination of the following:
- Developing content and taxonomy strategies
- Developing content models, metadata schemas, and content types
- Managing taxonomy, content, knowledge, and document management projects
- Evaluating large Web sites and taxonomies
- Planning and leading meetings and working sessions
- Planning and overseeing content audits and content analysis
- Planning and overseeing development of business and technical documentation
- Implementing taxonomies in conjunction with navigation systems, search mechanisms, and search engine optimization
- Planning and overseeing user research and usability testing
- Developing governance models, procedures, and policies
- Working with business and technical stakeholders on finding solutions and resolving issues
- Project management
Qualifications:
Successful candidates will have:
- In-depth knowledge of taxonomy, metadata, controlled, vocabularies, and classification
- 3+ years of experience leading and/or managing content, knowledge, and document management projects
- Experience implementing taxonomies in complex environments
- Proven leadership and management skills
- Experience working in busy corporate environments
- First rate communication and presentation skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Experience with document, content, and taxonomy-management systems, such as Vignette, Documentum, etc.
- Knowledge of Internet and database technologies
- Ability to work independently from your home office
- Availability to travel to onsite locations when required
A Masters of Library and Information Science (MLIS) or comparable degree is strongly preferred.
