Case Study

DAM Framework, Design and Deployment

Challenge

Client needed to redesign processes for managing the creative process for product design and development.  Problems included inability to locate assets, wasted efforts recreating assets that already existed, inefficient processes, inconsistent organizing principles, and poor data quality.

Solution

Current state process, system, and metadata analysis to determine gaps in existing systems and applications with regard to organizing principles, processes and practices.

  • 30+ interviews to develop requirements, 11 user profiles
  • Facilitated workshops and working sessions with stakeholders
  • Developed detailed user scenarios and use cases
  • Reviewed asset tagging and metadata
  • Created future state vision of system and processes along with roadmap

Developed taxonomies, metadata framework, domain model and functional specifications for DAM, developed training materials and user guides and long term governance.

Results

A highly functional digital asset management system that allowed for asset location and reuse, reduced operational costs, improved process efficiencies, increased user satisfaction, and improved reporting and data quality.
