This is a follow up session to the call with Nicolette Lodico which took place on April 6. Listen to the recording of Part 1. In the April 6 session Ms. Lodico outlined the unique information architecture challenges that the Foundation faced during its migration to SharePoint. There was not time to get into much detail about the result. So, in this session,Dalia Levine, Enterprise Information Architect, Information Management at Ford Foundation talks specifically how they resolved the problems in order to create the system they have today.

Ford Foundation is one of the world's largest philanthropic organizations. Each year the Foundation receives about 44,000 grant proposals and since its inception has distributed about $16 Billion in grants world wide.

Seth has been implementing content management and knowledge management projects for over 18 years and has been in the technology field for 25 + years. He is founder of the Boston Knowledge Management Forum and is a Master Trainer for the AIIM Information Organization and Access Course. He is also course co-developer and instructor for SharePoint Information Architecture course taught throughout N America and Europe. He is former adjunct professor at Northeastern University, where he taught graduate courses in Knowledge Management Infrastructure and E Business Strategy. He was 2009 Co-Chair of the Metadata Committee, NDIIPP Education and Outreach for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS).

Nicolette Lodico

Manager, Information Management , Ford Foundation

Nicolette is the Ford Foundation Manager of Information Management where she is responsible for ensuring the collection, organization, preservation of, and access to foundation records, resources, and intellectual assets. Nicolette holds a Master of Information and Library Science (MLS) from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She has more than 15 years’ professional experience in a range of organizations including professional services companies, technology startups, legal services agencies, and philanthropic organizations. She has broad expertise in the management, organization, development, delivery, and preservation of print and digital resources and is skilled in managing large-scale content digitization and migration projects, as well as DMS implementations. She is affiliated with several professional associations, including the American Society for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T), Association for Information and Image Management (AIIM), and Information Architecture Institute (IAI).

Dalia Levine

Enterprise Information Architect, Information Management , Ford Foundation

Dalia is the Enterprise Information Architect at the Ford Foundation, where she is responsible for the classification of the Foundation’s digital material and the intranet experience including search for the Foundation staff. Prior to joining the Foundation, Dalia was the Taxonomy Specialist within the communication division of UNICEF headquarters in New York. She has five years of experience working with ontologies and taxonomies along with usability studies. Dalia holds a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) from Pratt Institute. She is affiliated with several professional associations, including the American Society for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) Metro New York chapter and Information Architecture Institute (IAI).
