Unified Content Architecture Improves Experience, Process, and Quality

Challenge

This Big Four auditor needed to inject highly relevant content from multiple systems into complex and changing business process, but they lacked scalability, a clear unified strategy, and the means to articulate their business needs. Content curation was manual, content was poorly structured and burdensome to manage, and user information and behavior were largely unavailable as inputs for retrieval.

Solution

EIS collaborated with the client to describe and document the wider business context and the long-term content and metadata architectures, as well as practical short-term and ideal long-term processes for content publication and curation. To aid in implementation, EIS clarified the requirements and built the logic needed for contextual content delivery, consulted with technology on more efficient system integrations, and directed the user experience design.

Results

Client successfully met their shorter-term implementation goals by launching a pilot and then an initial release of a contextually dynamic application.

EIS provided the client with the skills and centralized rules engine architecture to dynamically connect users with relevant componentized information based on the user’s identity, actions, environment, and current workflow.

EIS established a knowledge management roadmap for implementing and sustaining their unified information architecture and content management processes for the long term.
