Is Your Search Ready for AI?
Measure your baseline, identify the gaps, build the remediation roadmap
Webinar, August 19, 1pm ET|10am PT
Every ecommerce team is being told that AI will take over search tuning. Agents will adjust relevance, generate synonyms, enrich the catalog, and catch degradation before customers do. That future is real and it is closer than most organizations think. But agents optimize against an information model. When the taxonomy is inconsistent, attributes are missing, and nobody is measuring what search actually returns, automation accelerates in the wrong direction, faster and at greater scale than a human would. There is no AI without IA.
Most organizations cannot answer the readiness question because they have never measured it. Search performance is discussed in anecdotes: a stakeholder complains, someone adjusts a boost, the complaint stops. That is not a baseline, and it is not something you can build a roadmap on.
This session provides the measurement discipline. Seth Earley and Sanjay Mehta walk through the Ecommerce AI Search Readiness framework: five domains and 18 factors covering search relevance and configuration, catalog and content quality, search operations and analytics, personalization and AI foundations, and governance and strategy. Each factor is scored against a defined five-level scale, from Reactive through Instrumented, Optimized, Autonomous, and Predictive, so placement comes from a consistent rubric rather than a gut feel.
You will see what each level looks like in practice, using real B2B catalog examples. You will see which domain is almost always the weakest, and why that gap quietly costs revenue. You will see how the readiness gaps that break keyword search also break RAG, chatbots, and AI agents downstream. And you will see what changes at level 4, when tuning moves from a monthly cadence to continuous agent operation inside human-defined guardrails. We will share results from recent work: an 8% relevance lift, a 30% reduction in zero-result failures, and search conversion improvement from 1.8% to over 3%.
Built for leaders in ecommerce, search, product information, personalization, and digital merchandising who need to know where they stand before committing to an AI roadmap.
